I don't know what it is about January, but I always end up with the worst case of winter blues. Maybe it's that the hype of Christmas is gone or that it's too dark and cold to go outside, but I lose all motivation to do anything at all; hence the lack of posts over the last couple of weeks.
Everything seemed to turn around on Friday. A new moon, the beginning of the Year of the Horse, and a weekend away seem to have lifted my spirits and energy level and I've started feeling like myself again. It's still cold, and I still want to go to sleep at 9:00 every night, but I'm more inclined to read, go to spin, or prep meals than I am to watch terrible TV until it's acceptably late enough to go to bed.
February, I've never been happier to see you :)
it's your Okotoks peep here and I understand completely!
ReplyDeleteThis weather! What I find the most challenging is WHAT on earth to wear. I love to dress up for work and love to feel good about my clothes. As much as I love the layers and winter woolies and tights in the FALL…after December I am completely in a state when I go to my closet in the morning! I am glad you are feeling more alive after the weekend. I agree that exercise I think helps the most as well as a healthy diet and FRESH air ( when you can stand to walk outside! ). Are you taking Vit D? I also just embrace the tea, books and crawl into bed at 9 and enjoy the cozy. Best wishes to you in Feb !!
Oh my gosh, Wendy! Don't even get me started on dressing for the weather. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that it's impossible to look cute at -20.
DeleteI haven't been taking vitamin D, but I'll certainly give it a shot.
I'm glad I'm not alone in my 9:00 bed time :) Let's hope that groundhog was right and spring is just around the corner.
